Food for Thought

A pessimist, they say, sees a glass of water as being half empty; an optimist sees the same glass as half full. But a giving person sees a glass of water and starts looking for someone who might be thirsty. – G. Donald Gale

I find that this quote cannot be more true. Are you aware that the most generous income group are the low-income families? Low-income families donate 4.5 percent of their income, while the middle class donates about 2.5% of their income, and high-income families donate 3 percent of their income.

I was shocked when I learned this. It seems that those in the low-income group will, quite literally, give you the shirt off of their back. I find this to be extraordinarily admirable, and I wonder what contributes to their desire to give back? While high-income families are donating so much more with their 3 percent, the 4.5 percent that low-income families are donating, means so much more. It means that they are making a considerable sacrifice for their fellow man. This is truly inspiring.

Thank you to our donors. Every time you give, you forever change the life of a person or family, who desperately needed your help. You are so much more than a name to them. You are an angel that gave them hope, when the world seemed so bleak. Thank you!
