The Little Things

Posted in Clients and Needs tagged , at 8:07 pm by Every Cent Counts

Everyday we ask that you donate whatever extra you have towards our clients. They are people like you and I, that have fallen on hard times through no fault of their own.

People like Anna, a survivor of horrific sexual assault, that turned her world upside down. In the years since the attack, she has overcome tremendous odds and fought through intense fear, to get back on her feet again. She is at a place in her life where she wants to go back to school, but in order to see the course materials, she needs glasses that she cannot afford on her own.  Right now, she is not in a place to give help, but she vows that as soon as she can she is going to help others the way they helped her.

One of the most common reasons I hear for why people won’t help, is their donation won’t be large enough to make an impact, so why bother donating. I don’t subscribe to this philosophy. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen ten dollars make all the difference in the world. The little things we give tend to add up to big things that change the circumstances in someone’s life. If everyone donated ten people donated ten dollars to one client, that’s $100 closer to fulfilling a need, and in some cases, that $100 alone is all it takes to alter a client’s life.

So I leave you with this quote: No act of kindness, however small, is ever wasted – Aesop

Thank you for helping our clients.
